Project Overview

As specialists in the field, Amy Bond and Gary Epis started The Purpose Lab to provide disability service providers with effective strategy and communication services. Their science lab-inspired branding (designed by Amy & Gary) was the perfect jumping off point to create a website to showcase their specialty areas and project samples.

Custom Graphics & Animations

The strategy for The Purpose Lab website was to create visual alternatives to photographic media. In keeping with the nod to a science-based laboratory through the test tube in the wordmark, Blinebury Design created a set of graphic icons featuring lab equipment and molecular breakdowns. These icons are brought to life through HTML5 animations on the homepage.

Unique Homepage Design

The Purpose Lab website  continues the scientific theme throughout with layouts and rules modeled after laboratory notebooks. The homepage features side tabs for visitors to quickly flip through different content areas and access pertinent information. On smaller devices where this style of viewing would be inefficient, the individual tabs expand with the custom icons displayed in the background as transparent elements behind the copy.

Deliverables:

  • Custom icon design and animation
  • Website design and development
  • Responsive layout
